Puma (puma concolor) AKA the cougar, catamount, painter and mountain lion.
Everyone seems to have a big cat in their gallery so why not me? OK, technically the puma's not a big cat but I don't think there's a more amazing and graceful looking creature on the face of the planet than a puma in mid-leap. This is one of the most challenging pics I've done both from the perspective of the flying snow around the cat's back paws and the colours of the creature itself ... in comics, cougars are usually coloured beige but in reality they're a mixture of a number of colours, including orange, fawn, grey and tan. I'm not 100% happy with this pic but I guess I'm happier with it than not!
This one's going out to my buddy Average John and his mom ... may god have mercy on their souls.
